Cardboard Creation

Ryan brought home the best present ever for the girls. A giant cardboard box for each of them! They loved them of course, but to stop the misery when they flaps collapsed while they were playing in them, I decided to build them a proper house.

Thank you Janet for the hours of fun!

Winner!

I've learned something new today as I was perusing the Washington state driver's manual in hopes of helping a friend get ready for getting a license. I am not breaking the law when I leave my kids in the car when I run into the dollar store to get something quick. I knew people frowned upon leaving your kids in the car, but on errand days I started doing it every once in awhile. Think what you want, but it's not illegal unless I leave the motor running. *wink*

So, the winner of "Discards to Keepsakes" happens to be one of the craftiest ladies, Kelly! So, I'll send you a message and we can make arrangements. And for all you non crafties that were really hoping, talk to me. I really like making dolls.

Merry Christmas!

We celebrate because Jesus was born on earth as man, as God, and died to cover our sins. Without this birthday to celebrate, there would be no hope. But there is. Find joy in hope. Come to Night Church or visit the blog, or send us an email or talk to us if you don't know the hope and JOY that comes from Jesus.

Matthew 1:21 And she will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, for he will save His people from their sins.

Our kids don't totally get the Jesus thing yet. My prayer is that they will soon, and I think Maddie is getting closer everyday. But they enjoy Christmas anyway just like everybody else. I mean, who doesn't like presents!

From our house to yours, Merry Christmas.

Discards to Keepsakes

I've had a stash of cute baby clothes I've been having a hard time letting go of. But recently, I've had the need to purge, so in the giveaway bag they went. But last night I had a thrilling idea and grabbed them back. After making a doll softie for a cousins baby and thinking it cute and easy, I thought maybe my girls should each have one in their stockings. Especially since they both wanted to play with it right away. (So they each got to give it a good squeeze to fill it with love and then put it aside).

Anyway. Baby clothes. I grabbed them and started cutting. Ack! But they are so cute! Never fear. I took what my children would never use again and made it into something they can always have. And it's still just as cute as those clothes! Have a boy? Make a bear. Or a boy doll. They'll be just as cute. I liked this project so much, I saved a couple of those dresses. I shouldn't. But I am. AND...because it's Christmas, I want to make one of these lovelies for someone else. Leave a comment and on Monday there will be a random winner. You can supply me with your baby clothes for my chopping pleasure, or if you don't have any, or think that clothes can feel pain and don't want me to chop them, I have girly clothes or can visit my local thrift store. We'll make arrangements after Monday.
I think Phoebe and Paige are fitting. What do you think?

Teatime for Annora

Since Annora ate the family I made for the dollhouse, Maddie asked for another "Maddie".

- I may or may not have gotten carried away...

Is There Cookie Under That Frosting?

I think Maddie could frost cookies all day long (as long as she gets to eat the frosting out of the bowl). I think Annora could frost herself all day long. Don't worry, we won't make you eat them.

On a side note - Santa was found naked, crazily driving around a shopping cart.

Shhh...

Had to show someone my fun Christmas project. Keep it quiet though.
